Secure Data Link
 Synchronous Communications Interface

The Secure Data Link (SDL) is a standalone unit similar to a modem.

When plugged into a standard PC communications port an SDL converts standard serial data into synchronous CCITT HDLC.

The SDL Unit gives you a platform indpendent HDLC interface without the need for custom cards and drivers inside the PC.  With full mulitdrop capability a single SDL can support 4 separate HDLC links.  For system flexibility you get link quality information via dedicated status port, front panel leds and (optionally) on the DSR line to the communications port.

You can use an SDL as either HDLC Master or Slave.  Connect two or more SDLs back to back for robust communications between PCs.

An SDL can be configured to use STX/ETX message delimiters or as a straight through connection for fast file transfer at baud rates up to 115200.  The unit confirms data integrity and retransmits bad packets transparently so you can be sure of your data, even over noisy lines.

SDL provides a robust interface to secure HDLC communications that you really can just plug in and switch on.
