WMS WEB
Teknis developed the "WMS Web" to optimise the functionality and accessibility
of the WCM database.
The aim of the "WMS Web" was to provide a method where multiple user-clients
could access the archive data from the WCMdb database.
Realising that most organisations have a variety of hardware and software
levels within their organisation, it was decided that by utilising and
optimising Web based technologies, Teknis could provide an efficient, 'Read
Only' access to the corporate data with minimum hardware and software
requirements.
Many organisations already have Intranet / Internet capability, so Teknis has
leveraged as much as possible from these existing technologies so that there is
no special installation process or software required for users to access the
information.
Read-Only Access and Security is provided where each user is required to Log on
and be validated before accessing and viewing any data. Each page request is
tested for a valid user before being sent to the user to view. Non-validated
users will NOT be able to view the data.
Screen layouts have been kept as close as possible to the WCMdb forms views for
user familiarity.
Pages have been kept at a primarily text based presentation and
graphics/pictures avoided for the following reasons:

Increase speed and minimise network bandwidth usage.

Minimum hardware and software requirements.

Leverage efficient use of low end technology.

Printer friendly - use browser print function.
